In a little village near Kanpur in North India is a

temple with a Goddess Lakshmi statue. Usually, in

temples Goddesses are adorned with lots of jewellery

and so someone associated with the temple thought they

would get a lot of money by stealing the Goddess!!!

They stole Mother Lakshmi but as luck would have it,

the police found the theives and took the Goddess to

the police station...Now, an owl which the carrier of Lakshmi, decided to

pay respect to Divine Mother...

People heard about this and they too wanted to join in

the worship - and pay their respect!..

The police station became a temple. :-)

Dear Ramya ~ thank you for sharing this wonderful story with us. Imagine

seeing it on tv! (Or actually being there.) Today, I just unpacked my

refrigerator magnet, which is an image of Mother Lakshmi. I was so happy. Most of you

know I have been living in a trailer, and my refrigator's surface was not

magnetized, so I only had a tiny area, the vent cover of my stove, to put magnets

on. Even so, Laksmi was there too. Now I have a big refrigerator that I can

cover with all my magnets of Krishna, Shiva and Parvati, Ganesha ... and I

will have to look for a magnet of an owl. : ) It is such a small thing, that

even a refrigerator magnet with Mother Laksmi's image could give me such

feelings of happiness. Laksmi Ki Jai ~ Linda
