Guest guest
What happen when you stare in the mirror for too long, and getting obsess with this mirror image of the self......you get stuck and fall into this Narcissistic stage. Narcissism describes the character trait of self love. The word is derived from Greek mythology. Narcissus was a handsome Greek youth who rejected the desperate advances of the nymph Echo. As a punishment, he was doomed to fall in love with his own reflection in a pool of water. Unable to consummate his love, Narcissus pined away and changed into the flower that bears his name, the narcissus. In moderation, narcissism is said to be an essential component of a healthy psyche. In psychology and psychiatry, excessive narcissism can become pathological, or manifest itself as a severe personality disorder such as NPD. The word is often used as a pejorative, denoting vanity, conceit, egotism or simple selfishness. Applied to a social group, it is sometimes used to denote elitism or an indifference to the plight of others. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissism Good reading : MALIGNANT SELF LOVE, NARCISSISM REVISITED http://samvak.tripod.com/msla.html , Lulu Dong <lulu.dong wrote: > > "I spent more hours than I remember gazing in the mirror" > > at night, i gaze out of the mirror... > during day, I let the mirror gaze into me... > > let the mirror gaze into you, and reverse your point of view ... > > then tell me, is the world reversed when you are inside the mirror ? > > > > "Who are you, really" ? > > Mother Kali. > > "How do you know what you know" ? > > I told Mother Kali. > > "What did you tell Mother Kali" ? > > Imagine i am your mirror, > i am your image, > you are my mirror ... > i am your image... > you are my mirror... > > > "What did Mother Kali tell you" ? > > stand in front of a mirror as transparent as a window, or as clear as water, at night. Guest guest
Nice story, but there are countless other objects to find in the mirror, trees, cars, the sky, the world, the universe, other beings, why is it so many people only think of their narcissistic self if they look in the mirror ? nothing wrong with that, but there are so many more things in the mirror than flowers and echoes.
