1. Rg Veda Upaakarma is difficult to get help with . Hence I am recording

Rg Veda Upaakarmaa by oneof the most eminent Bruhaspathys in India

in one or Two DVDs/VCDs and have requested a friend of mine to hand carry it

with him , when he reurns here on Aug 13, 2006 from India .It may be late for this

year's Rg upaakarma but you can use comfortably the 42nd e-book , which is dedicated to

HH SrI Injimettu Azhagiya Singar .

 

We will try to get a dozen copies from India and they will be made available

on a first come , first served basis . We will request a small contribution from

you to defray the expenses of Video production and SambhAvanai for the GhanapAdi

Bruhaspathy Swamy , who is sharing his scholarship . Please let me know for joining

the queue .

 

2. Saama Veda Upaakarmaa is from the free handout by Sri Ahobila Matam as

a part of the supplement to Sri Nrusimha Priyaa . Please to the Tamil

or English Versions of Sri Nrusimha Priya for regular Monthly issues and special

supplements like this .

 

The TarpaNams in Saama Vedam for the Rishis are many . It is no accident since

we owe a lot to the Rishis ( mantra dhrushtAs) . Every Veda Mantram has a Rishi ,

Chandas and Devathaa . The Rishis and some times their wives ( Agasthyaa and

Lobhamudhra for instance ) have the Mantrams that were revealed to them through

their Tapas . I will post a special article about these Rishis , RishiNees and coment on

selected Veda Manthrams associated with them . It is only appropraite that each

Vedic Upaakarmaa salutes them and try to please them with the TarpaNams .

These TarpaNams in Yajur Vedam are shorter and longer in Saama Vedam ,

which GeethAchAryan identified with ( VEdAnaam Saama VEdhOsmi ).

 

3. Yajur Veda Upaakarmaa book has subsections on the significance of

Vedams and Upanishads in our Vedic sampradhAyam and the importance of

Upaakarmam beyond the changing of sacred threads . Bhagavaan Yoga Hayagrivan's

image ( Veda Purushan's image from Thiruvaheendhrapuram given to Swamy Desikan

by Garudan on OushadhAdhri hills) is housed here .

and SaraNAgathy ( Aathma VivAham) from AchArya Saarvabhoumaas this year ! It is never

too early to place the Aathmaa at the sacred feet of the dhivya Dampathis with the help

of the Gadakars (AchAryAs) , who are waiting to perform these important VivAhams !
