You are right. This mantra,only the first two vaakyas, with a slight

variation, appears in the Kathopanishat i.ii.20 thus:

aNoraNIyAn mahato

> mahIyAn AtmAsya jantoH nihito guhaayAm |

tamakratuH pashyati vItashoko

dhAtuprasAdAnmahimAnamAtmanaH ||

 

The Acharya's bhashya for this may be perused for a very good

understanding of the Vedanta Sat as the underlying cause of the

universe.

 

The rest of the taitirIya mahAnArAyaNa mantra is not there in Katha.up.
