Avinash
One goes to hell if he has committed a sin. Yudhisthira went to heaven. Before that, for a short time, he was sent to hell. The reason given is that he told a lie. But Lord Krsna Himself suggested to Yudhisthir to tell that lie and according to Lord Krsna telling that lie was not a sin. If Lord Krsna Himself felt that it was not a sin, then how can anybody else (even if it is Yamaraja) declare that as a sin? If it was not a sin, then why was Yudhithira sent to hell? He didn't really go to hell - it was a test - to see if his duty to dharma would prevail over attachment and illusion. For example - after renouncing everything - when he left the city to go wandering - a 'homeless' dog followed after him and later - when the doors to the heavenly kingdom were opened to him and he proceeded to enter - the dog followed him and he was then told that the dog had to stay outside - thus - he said that he would not enter heaven - without the dog - as the dog had taken shelter of him and - he would not thus abandon it. He then found out that the dog was in fact dharma incognito. When he only 'apparently went to hell' - that was a similar test...
Guest guest
This was a pastime to show that no leader is exempt from going to hell, attaining hell, having a hellish consciousness, or creating hellish conditions on earth for millions of people even if they think that God Himself is telling them what to do. For example, Dubya told that American public that God Himself told him to invade Iraq and these instructions of God were confirmed by God's Pure Devotee and shaktyavesh avatar Pat Robertson of the 700 Club. Meanwhile, the eternal trickster Narada Rsi gave the Reverend Jim Wallis [who teaches a course on religion, politics, and society at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government] a subversive idea: why not double-check the Bible aka the Word of God re: Jesus' priority level for an invasion of Iraq? There he found 2,000 references to helping the poor and zero references to invading Iraq. When he publicly shared that he found it hard to believe that Jesus' first priority would have been a capital gains tax cut and an invasion of Iraq, then Dubya had to suffer in hell for a little while when his ratings in the polls went down. But Dubya quickly attained Heaven when Halliburton and Exxon Mobil stock went up more in one quarter than it ever did at any time before in US history. This enabled him to leave hell and attain the Svarga Loka of Crawford, Texas with along with Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, Ken Lay, and Brownie. Amen. Guest guest
Heres how it went down. As soon as he allowed another to say "aswattama is dead" so that dronacarya could hear, King Yudhisthira's feet then touched the ground. Prior to that He had no contact at all with the earthly plane. The lie, which he did not tell, but allowed to be uttered in his presence as an act to defeat one who could never be defeated (drona), caused contamination. The dog thing was nicely presented by rod serling in a famous twilight zone episode, where the man understood that heaven wouldnt be so cruel as to disallow a protectedd one entry. That was really hell, and yudhisthira knew all things and couldnt be fooled. hare krsna, ys, mahaksadasa
