My humble opinion is that our ISKCON devotees have a big, big problem, that is that if they are no qualified brahmanas or take sannyasi, (there are more exception like the devotees who work in BBT that generally gain a salary and medical security and others that can dovetail in the temple), they are force to fulfill their basic familiar necessities in the materialist society, . However S. Prabhupada advise us: para-upakara means mass benefit, no a certain section... that means small scale... Then, we have to introduce this varnasrama... according to Krishna´s instruction, if you want to do it in a large scale for the benefit of the whole human society" My understanding is that Prabhupada bougth about a dozen of big farms to start to make our own Society, or organized village, however now are practically empty, and the devotees along their children and families going to buy a house to live, with a mortgage for 20 years. I think it´s the biggest managerial fail in all our ISKCON. Prabhupada will chastise all of us, from the first to the last devote of ISKCON. Even the karmis at all the times knowed how to live together, making a church and a village around, now they do urbanizations, but with the Bank, shops and cinemas in the centre. First to go to try to install the varnasrama in the city, I think we have to install in our ISKCON, probably we will recover hundred of devotees. "We will start for our farmsif they see that we are living better that them, they will feel atract" said Prabhupada.
