Why not varnasrama?

Here is one answer.

 

So many things that were asked by Prabhupada were not complete and likely

will never be. Most of devotees I know do just necessary minimum. Prabhupada

did not start with VA in NY66 and never said it was the necessary minimum.

 

So as the result there always be ones who think it is essential and those

who think it is not.

 

First part of the devotees should show by example of working VA that it is

essential and then the rest will accept it as such. Training by example that

is the way Srila Prabhupada wanted to establish VA community say in Gita

nagari.

 

However most then likely there always be others who will remain on the

absolute minimum platform that Srila Prabhupada started his mission with and

this minimum already incorporates daivy VA as was developed by Srila

Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati on request of his father, ie brahmana initiation

not by birth but by being a pure vaisnava.

 

Another question is still stays: who will provide resources for the examples

of VA. I guess VA should produce resources itself to be sustainable, another

option is to throw man and money on it:-) We had it in 1974, do we still

have it?
