What does Mata Ki Jagran mean? There is an announcement on the web site

that indicates that Shree Maa will lead Mata Ki Jagran on August 19 at

6:00PM. In my ignorance, I don't know what that means.

Thank you,

Karen [:)]

Also, are we to understand that everyone in the group is invited to

participate/join in for the celebration?

Namaste Karen,

Mata means Mother. Ki means "ofjagran" means (i think) staying up! :-) My

understanding is that on august 19th we will be praying and singing to Divine Mother -

and also to Lord Krishna.

The beautiful cow-herd boy (Krishna) took birth on the 8th day of the dark fortnight of

Shravan month -- that falls on tuesday this year in US. So we will be celebrating His

birthday also on saturday (aug 19).

There will be puja, chanting by fire and lots of singing -- lots of love, lots of joy, and God,

God, God! :-)

If you want to join in the celebration, please email info (AT) shreemaa (DOT) org for further

information.

Hope to see you - with your dancing shoes and singing heart! :-)

Jai Maa!

ramya :)
