Guest guest
....not quite so, I sense and feel the suffering of all creatures as if my own, "my" suffering and pain is bound intrinsically. how could this not be so? ....to hold "all this" in one's heart is to live and dance with the heart ever breaking..... Guest guest
SELF includes all, including the real AND the unreal, including the light AND the darkness, including the dreamer AND the dream. As Flip Wilson said in his monologues, "What you see is what you get!" Rumi sees deeply into compassion, SELF includes heart, for SELF is the heart, for SELF is Sat-Chit-Ananda, for SELF is ever sending forth and calling home. The Brahma-Jnani dwells in SELF, acts and lives without attachment to the results of the action. The metaphor here is the image of a person, one foot in the world of Absolute Being, the other foot in the world of Relativity, without the attachment to "this" and "that". One "this" is "unity" and one "that" is "duality". Let us not be attached to such words, lest Rumi's suffering fall upon us. The Jnani only says, "Not two!"
