Guest guest
I totally relate. A lot of times this group is way over my head. I love the Mother. I pray She is watching over me. I wish I was more in tune with Her and what She might want me to do. Some of us are lost, but still looking. Let ponder for a moment: "What do we understand as this word "to understand"?
Guest guest
"Understand" is a verb that assumes a subject and an object. To say "I understand it" or "I don't understand it" assumes that "I" am over here and "it" is over there. When in fact Devi is (as we love to say in so many contexts) simultaneously the Understander, the Understood, and the Act of Understanding. She just is; we just are. Although it may be the hardest thing to "understand," I must agree with Nora and Llundrub that perhaps the biggest misunderstanding here is that there is something to understand. I am not saying this to sound flip. Sure, the details of Shakti Sadhana can be complex, but all you need to know (which is, by definition, just a tiny part of the whole) will come to you as you need it. There is no need to feel that you are missing something big; you are not. With the information on the homepage, in the booklist, etc., we try to offer the tools to get a good grounding in the topic. But if such approaches are not your style, it is fine to just hang around and absorb what you need by osmosis. Eventually, the information you need (which, in many cases, may have nothing to do with Shakti Sadhana) will come to you in its own time. That's how it seems to me, at least. Or many?- -and then based on my experiences of college, that is, I have forgotten most everything I learned 20 years ago, so also, we can study everything and come to know so many details, but really, all is forgotten. What is the jist of what was gained? This something, sort of like the myth of feeding cows milk and then it being condensed, and then feeding it to another cow and then it becomes more condensed until one has the most condensed essence of heavy milk, that is, divine understanding is just a sense of knowing. That is, at a certain point one cannot any longer even remember how or what has occured but one is left with the sense of divinity, beyond nama rupa. Thus, either way, through lack of specific subject matter, or through transcendence of subject matter, what is there to understand exactly? Personally, though my years of seeking I have not found something that was not here already. That is, divinity is all pervasive and suffuses all things completely. What there is to understand is that all varieties of religious seeking and experience is like buffing and polishing the dusty glass of our minds until it it transparent and the Divine is then clear. Hence, the real matter for investigating is how one can relax most completely, how to let the child play freely with creativity sure in its knowledge that Mother is always right there with it. That understanding comes freely when one gives up totally. Sometimes heavy material burdens can have the opposite effect of freeing the mind. So maybe people should look more interiorly into things and not at relative and materialistic phenomena for proof of Amma's grace and love. Understanding of what? Rather, understanding nothing at all, one can be sismply full of bhava of the Mother. Maybe this is best. Since all the previous intellectual pursuits rot with the physical brain. May I suggest that You might want to do some small "sadhan" towards your goal. Its one of the best times to worship "Mother". Off course some might say that you can worship her anytime and I do agree with them too.. But most Sadhaks wait for these certains times in an year, where the effect of their Sadhana are manifolds This is one of them. Some of us are lost, but still looking. To begin whith there is nothing we or at least I can say that will make you it easy for you to understand. Its only A) A Master or B) Mother herself can do it. Now realisig that you are lost and looking is a good thing. Its the first stage. You know the problem. Now lets try to find out a solution for it.. BTW did I mention I am myself looking... so its a good thing and you are ahead of a lot of poeple who have no idea that they are lost, and hence are not looking. However perhaps if you can ask a question, I may be of assistance. thanks and regards Har Har Mahadev. DISCLAMER: My knowledge is very limited...
