Its a different interpretation given in the book : [321] KapAlakundalA : The spiral energy in cup like space KapAla means a cup or a jar in general. KapAla means a skull also. Here is meant the cup like space of Kundalini, the energy of vital airs continually winding about and receding from the centre [sahasrAra]. Guest guest
kundala also means coil (of rope). May be was used in this context to refer to the coiled kundalini. , "NMadasamy" <ashwini_puralasamy wrote: > > , "mahahradanatha" > <mahahradanatha@> wrote: > > > > , "NMadasamy" > > <ashwini_puralasamy@> wrote: > > > > > > [321] KapAlakundalA : The spiral energy in cup like space > > > > ??? > > > > Kapalakundala: human skull Earring > > > > Is it? Guest guest
Yes of course , that could be an interpretation of one hidden meaning, of Kapalakundala, but not a good translation, especially since wearing a skull earring is a special sign of some sects, like Kapalika, Aghor or Nath panth it has more than only the symbolic meaning. There are several earrings devi is wearing one of them skull ornaments but also earrings made of bodies of pretas, and dead children bodies, sun and moon, the earrings in itself and also the piercing of the ear, is an important symbol. Of course the Kapala could be interpreted as being your own skull and the kundala being the coils of shankini in Sahasrara, supreme Nada. but even in that case "earrings" is a better translations since it points to the connection of these 3 1/2 Coils of shankini in Sahasrara with the Nada upasana, the practice of listening to the inner sounds, that is connected with the Kundalini symbolism. But that is only one possible interpretation of the nama "wearing skull earrings" not a proper translation. , "ganpra" <ganpra wrote: > > kundala also means coil (of rope).
