Pranams The term mithya is misunderstood by many to mean false. No one, least of all Adi Shankara, says the world is false as in the sense of the english word false. <snip> So Adi Shankaras work of explaining vedanta to us was never meant to take away our appreciation of the wonders in the world, but rather to provide a prism to appreciate them in an entirely new dimension Hari OM Shyam Dear Sri Shyam, I did not interpret "mithya" as false in my post. I have read the Sankara Bhashyams to most of the principal Upanishads and to the Brahma Sutra, in his own words (original Sanskrit) and I could not find any substantive references that "Adi Shankara's work of explaining vedanta to us was never meant to take away our appreciation of the wonders in the world, but rather to provide a prism to appreciate them in an entirely new dimension". So I am unable to appreciate your point. I'll be glad if you could kindly provide references from his work, highlighting the above point of view.
