Guest guest
Dear Group members, please kindly share any and all information you may have on the subject of Parad, especially in a Shiva Lingam such as the one pictured here. Richardji, what should be the approximate cost, value (US dollars) of this size Lingam...Is Parad considered a rare (precious) metal? I am aware that at least Nepali Saivites regard Parad as rooted in the Vedas, and even associated by some with Soma. However, from a modern ("scientific") point of view is there danger in having Mercury on your personal altar, in constant and close proximity to yourself? (Can one bathe a Parad Lingam with water?) What is the specific connection of Parad with Shiva? If this is rooted in the Vedas, Puranas or Ayurveda, can someone help me to find out where? Thanks for any light you can shed on this important & interesting subject.
