Guest guest
How safe is it to practice Sat Kriya alone? I have only done a little bit of Tai Chi, and I wanted to try the Sat Kriya because I feel I need the benefits it offers. I do not have an instructor and have read up a bit about Kundalini and yoga online. At dawn this morning I had a powerful experience, I beleive I am becoming more aware of some emotional issues among other things. Being eager to know more, yet not wanting to be foolish and turn on something I cannot handle, the experience in question just happened, it's like energy is moving about on its own and I really sdon't want my head to explode. The very concept of Kriya is that it is a "complete action" in itself and can be practiced alone. That said I always like to loosen up my spine, stretch my limbs and open up my breath/channels before practicing any Kriya or meditation. It makes for a deeper practice and is part of tuning into myself (along with the Adi Mantra - Ong Namo.........). You could keep your focus at the tip of your nose and maintain a light Jallunder Bhand (neck lock with head level and upper chest forward and up ). Make sure to do a layout afterward (shivasana) for a time equal in length to your Sat Kriya practice. It is also good to practice One Minute Breath (20 secs inhale, 20 secs suspend, 20 secs exhale, thereabouts) for 5 - 11 mins afterward to integrate the effects of any practice. Your head shouldn't explode if give this the proper time and you do so with affection. Sat Nam, Dharam Millis, MA "If it's not devotional, it's not Yoga" -- Yogi Bhajan __._,_.
