Guest guest
Dear Friends Sat Nam! I just got the latest 3HO newsletter. To celebrate the Love and Legacy of Yogi Bhajan they propose activities such as a "bouncing space walk". Also "You can snack on popcorn or munch on appetizers while filling your gift bag with our wonderful Golden Temple products. Stroll around the bazaar, stop and shop and enjoy a variety of consultations (astrology, Bach flowers, gemstones, palm reading and much more) at the various booths. There is also a raffle so remember to get your raffle tickets!" ????? Is this really the best way they can find to commemorate the life and times of Yogi Bhajan? This sad parody of an event does nothing but detract from the vast legacy of an individual who achieved so much and whose memory many of us revere. I for one will certainly not be attending. Guest guest
Sat Nam Gurveer Ji, One of the first things I remember Yogi Bhajan saying to me, and others, when I first came into Sikh Dharma was "don't get involved with the personalities". I have had to remind myself so regularly, at times, it was almost like a mantra. The best is to see the G.O.D. in all, as Yogiji chose to do for a few decades. I imagine there will something other than balloons, painted ponies and a "bouncing space walk". "Ain't no thing but a chicken wing" Perhaps we could focus instead on the 11 day meditation of leading up to his birthday, culminating in 2.5 hours of the Adi Shakti Mantra aka Long Eks on Yogi Bhajan's Birthday, August 26. See details below August 15 - August 25, chant 31 minutes of Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru at any time of the day. "In gratitude we celebrate the spirit and wisdom of Yogi Bhajan with 11 days of meditation leading up to the anniversary of his birth. Join the global community to connect with the spirit of Yogi Bhajan, offering thanks for all the blessings he so generously shared with us. Then on August 26, worldwide simultaneous meditation, beginning at 3:00 AM Pacific Daylight Savings Time: chant Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru for 11 minutes. It is also traditional to do 2.5 hours of Long Ek Ong Kars <http://www.3ho.org/pdf/Long_Ek_Ongkars.pdf> at a time best suited to your time zone." ..
