Guest guest
Om Namo Bhagavate Sri Ramanaya, Verse 70 of Arunachala Akshara Mana Maalai - As soon as I thought of you, you caught hold of me, who knows your glory - O Arunachala !! We were construting our own house in 1992. First time one of my friends told me about Ramana Maharshi and the same day he gave me the quarterly magazine RAMANA OLI. Incidents mentioned in that number impressed me much that I got a craving to visit Ramanashram. When I said this desire of mine to my wife, as usual she put a block top my plans convincing me that the trip to Annamalai would cost me nearly Rs.500/-. "This amoung can very well be usilised for making a window for our new house" she added. Although I kept quiet considering the facts in her argument, I could not assuage my burning desire to visit Ramanashram. I fervently prayed to Guru to bless me with extra money so that I can visit Ramanashram. Within 2 days, I got a contract from All India Radio Tirunelveli to attend a recording at CHENNAI !! Usually the recording would be held at AIR Studio, Tirunelveli - this time it was at Chennai. I was given FIRST CLASS TO & FRO Train Fare to attend this. Getting contract for my expenditure is not a thing to cogitate now. Even that amount would have been spent for my house work. Our Eternal Guru fixed the place of recording at Chennai that I should necessarily take up the journey. I went to Chennai via THIRUVANNAMALAI. Stayed in my relative's house in Ayyankulam Agraharam - visited temple first - morning Abhishegam was going on at that time and when the screen was on for Alangaaram, a man sitting at my side asked me whether I met Visiri Saamiyaar. When I said NO, he took me straight to that saintly person. I touched his Feet and he said 'RAM RAM'. After that I went straight to Ramanashram - Met Kunju Swamigal who advised me two things. To go round the Holy Hill and (2) to recite Arunachala Akshara Mana Maalai daily. He did not talk nothing other than this. Next time when I visited the same year I could not meet him as he left his mortal body to get dissolved into the Lotus Feet of our Guru. Verse 70 thus matched with my experience of this. Once we are imprisoned in the divine web of our Eternal Guru we are "finished" Verse 103 talks about this. Once we enter into the cob web of our Guru, no escape from His divinity.
