I did a ten day fast on 1 tbs male syrup, 1 tbs fresh lemon juice, and a quarter tsp cayenne mixed in a glass of water, take at least 8 glasses a day. I don't know if the maple syrup has some special benefit over honey or some other sweetner, but it sure mixes into the water easier than honey. One thing to research would be potassium content, because one problem with extended fasting is loss of potassium which manifests as muscle, especially leg, cramps. I did a 7 day straight water fast once, and just before breaking it the last day, walked out over the ridge to Balabhadra's and back, about 1.5 miles maybe, and my legs cramped something fierce. :-) FYI, if someone were to do extended fasting, slowly ease back into regular diet. Should take as many days to regular diet as was spent fasting.
