Namaste Shyamji,

You have said ' Ananda as an attribute of brahman'.

Ananda is the very nature of brahman and not an attribute. Swami Dayanandaji

makes this clear at the beginning itself.

You are certainly aware of this and your reference to 'attribute' must be

only a slip. I am pointing this out only in order that beginners may not be

confused. Please excuse me.

Respected Sastri Ji,

This is beautiful!

Lord Shiva is the doer;

Lord Shiva is the enjoyer.

Ways of Divine are Blissful (Ananda).

Pranam,

Virendra.

AANANDAYAA DEYA SARVA DEVAANI;

AANANDAYAA JIIVANTE JIIVAAH;

AANANDAYAA PRALAYAANTAKA, VISHANGA VISHANTI.

We emanate from BLISS

We sustain in BLISS

We merge in BLISS

Sashtang pranams Sastri-ji

This underscores how truly blessed we are to have your

auspicious association.

You know I had intended to put the term attribute in

quotes - my sentence was intended to read 'Ananda as

an "attribute" of Brahman', precisely for the same

reason you are rightly saying - that many students

make the habit of thinking of bliss or ananda as an

attribute of Brahman and Swami Dayananda-ji very

patiently and deliberately goes to great lengths to

remove this misconception.

As i was pressing the send button I noticed I had not

put the inverted commas and thought of sending another

post immediately to rectify the error, but then

thought better of it so as to not attract more

attention to the post itself.

How benevolent and gracious of you to take the time to

read and point out the error.

Please continue to bless us in this way by continuing

to monitor our ideas, language, etc as your time

permits and give us invaluable advice.

A hundred pranams

May your blessings ever be upon us.

Hari Om

Shyam

P.S. [May I commit the impertinence of repeating my

request to you of giving us some glimpses of your

favorite sections on the narayaneeyam/bhaktaranjini.]
