Namaste.

May I draw your attention to this brand new book which I just browsed

through on the shelves of Borders Bookshop? It has been published just two

months ago. I have not yet read it. But in 15 minutes of browsing I could

notice that it resonates with many ideas in my book on 'Science and

Sprituality'. I would recommend this book for a full enjoyable reading by

members on this list.

PraNAms to all Book-lovers.

Pranams Prof.VKji,

Thanks for bringing to our attention this landmark book.

A PBS interview and several links to Dr. Collins work are at:

Pranams Prof-ji

Thank you for that link.

May i also recommend

The Great Transformation: The Beginning of Our

Religious Traditions (Hardcover)

by Karen Armstrong

I was browsing it (without buying it!!) at the airport

bookstore and almost missed my flight.

It traces the evolution of spiritual thought.

The Upanishads and advaita are covered extensively and

are well-researched. For a westerner(I think she is a

British nun) the author displays a remarkable

understanding of (and hence appreciation of) vedantic

thoughts and ideas. [some typically biased

interpretations may be occasionally seen but these are

remarkably far and few].

On a different note, I did want to thank you for

taking the time to give us the link to your earlier

post detailing a portion of your pujya father's

wonderful work - my salutations to both of you. I

found the writings to be of immense value for

introspection and meditation.
