Guest guest
Om Namo Bhagavate Sri Ramanaya ! This has happened three years back. My old and infirm mother was importuning me to take her to Ramanashram and most importantly for Giri Pradikshana. I fulfilled her desire three years back. My friend's wife, who is obesic and sick as well also joined her. We stayed that time in Ramanashram. I somehow convinced my mother to remain in the room during my proposed Giri Pradikshanam the following day. We visited the house of one of my friends residing opposite Arunachaleshwar temple. Those good souls compelled us to take meals with them and after the sumptuous meals, I slept in the afternoon while the ladies were talking about our Guru. Around 4 PM they woke me up as they were all starting for Giri Pradikshanam. My friend's wife Mrs.Raji told me my mother and my guest are also joining in the Giri Pradikshanam. I protested for two things. (1) I slept and hence without taking bath I should not take up Giri Pradishanam and since my mother is old and unwell (Sugar patient and having heart ailment). She said, " Mama Bhagavan is coming with us, why do you worry?). I could hardly resist her from her plans. We started after visiting big temple. After a small sojourn at Ramanashram, we continued our pradikshana. The sky became dark and there were signs of sharp showers. My mother said "better we stay at Ramanashram for some time as it is going to rain now". I convinced her that there is heavy winds that the rain clouds would go away. Suddenly it rained very heavily drenching us completely as we could find no place to take shelter. My mother was lamenting like anything as she would always take bath in hot water lest she would get severe cold and head ache. My freind's wife, who also complained such complications joined my mother. I was in a way happy that my Ramana bathed me in the purest form of water (remember His bath in the rain after tonsuring His head). I also remembered one of the Verses in Akshara Mana Maalai says "when your fire burns me down into ashes, may the rain of your grace be showered on me O Arunachala" We contined our Pradishana immediately when the rain stopped. My mother usually cannot walk continuously even for 10 minutes. She would develop contraction / pulling of calf muscles. My friend's wife who is having high BP and bulky body also never complained. Of course, the lost leg of the Pradikshana after Easanya Lingam troubled them a little. Surprisingly, nothing - absolutely nothing had happened to them. Grace of Eternal Guru. In one of the songs "minaindu ninaindu " in Album "SARANAGATHI" rendered by Malgudi Subha, there is a line "O Ramana as a divine campanion holding my hand you made me go round the Holy Hill". It became true in the case of my mother and my friend's wife. When we think, desire, plan or want something, our Eternal Guru responds at the appropriate time though not instantaneously all the time.
