Dear Soumit,

Good to see a scientist participating in an astrology forum.

Astrologers have been calling it Science for some time but very few

of them have experienced science personally. You will help us

understand and bridge the two realities, hopefully.

A place, any place is space and to some extent matter. Often spaces

and locations have a certain energy associated, but though Einstein

proposed (proved and others after him did too!) perhaps Space, Matter

and Energy are related but the INTERCONVERSION and transformation of

one into another could be what creates the MAYA?

i too would like to know few more things from a scientist

perspective:

1. astronomy is a tested proven science which is a curriculum in

many universities in many countries. astronomy deals with planets,

stars, space and their general impacts and significances on earth.

2. astrology is a mixture of mythology and astronomy and was

originally created to fix good muhurtams for doing any auspicious

jobs and forewarn any negative incidents in a human life (akin to

warnings of calamities like duststorm, hailstorm, typhoon, cyclone,

floods, tsunamis, earthquakes etc.) so that loss of life and wealth

is precluded. however, these days it has been reduced to a mere

predictive science with emphasis only on prediction of future.

remedy sellers (gems, yantras and rituals etc.) have further reduced

this astrology to a mere pathological test of planets with a view to

prescribe medicines (remedies). unlike pharmaceutical industry

which has the highest profit margin among all sectors across the

globe, this astrology remedy sector too is a multi trillion dollar

industry with 99% of it in the unorganised sector.

3. once tatvamji has sent few beautiful posts on scientific

perception of astrology and appreciate if you could also send your

observations on astrology as a science.

4. as for myself, i believe astrology is a "DIVINE SCIENCE" where an

element of divinity is a must which has no clue from the science.

Dear Arjun,

Re 1. Yes, Absolutely so

Re 2. You couldnt have put it any better and life is unfair. However market forces rule just like natural selection and astrology seeks it natural level when compared to modern science. It is useless to complain and we need some serious introspection as you lead us to.

Sometimes astrologers claim to know every minute detail, events and timings of mundane stuff like vehicle color when they cannot produce any reference scriptures because I am certain that we did not have green color horses at the times when these were written up. Moreover scriptures need some serious overhaul in terms of modern context.

Re 3. I will share my thoughts, readings when time permits, free computer reports and whatever else is at my disposal.

Re 4 astrology is a "DIVINE SCIENCE" , I like the Divinity part of it, absolutely beleive so and that is why we are here.However the skecptic in me will challenge this because we humans are known to be afraid of death, we live life totally ignoring that we are going to be dying one day.

However we subconsiously driven to take care of this issue and that is the sole reason why we have children, have fame in the immediate family, to the world, so that atleast memories remain. If we have more money then we have charities, foundations, memorials, we sometimes take it to extreme levels like building useless pyramids when they could have built something like dams instead. Simmilarly we biased to thinking about life after death, aatma, God etc.
