Guest guest
kUTRam mANidamAi' DEATH IN THE FORM OF HUMAN BEING KuTRam is 'yaman'. The one whcih makes KURu -split - the soul and the body is termed as kUTRAm. The legend goes that rAVaNan obtained the power of not being overpowered by dhevathAs or higher beings. He was not worried about mortal human beings. 'They are after all small worms, innocous' -were his perception. This indifferent attitude and measly thinking about them resulted in a callous and compacent attitude towards them. EmperumAn could have erased him by sankalpam in one moment. Notwithstanding His prowess, The Lord Almighty wanted to mainitain the boons bequeathed to ravaNa by others. So the Alimighty desended to the earth in the form of a human being and as none other than Chakravarthith Thirumangan. Rest is known to all. The point here is, ravanan reached his end from the most unexpected and the most underestimated quarters. This is what Tirumangai AzvAr points out as KUTRam mANidamAi vandhu thONRi in the periya thriumzohi 10-2-5; dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
