Guest guest
Dear brothers, i need urgent feed back reg the following. There is a Ganesh mandal in front of my house and just opp the police station. They put on their music systems with full volume and play all filmi songs in front of Ganeshji. I just requested them to lower the voice as my son is having exams and my mother in law has got two operations recently and she is getting disturbed and even i and my husband as we are from media have got our office at residence itself and do get calls from various publications (for which we work) were unable to work because of the loud noise. since two days i am constantly requesting them but they didnt hear at all. Then on third day also i just requested them first but when they didnt listen i myself went and put off the music. On that they all gathered including police which is just opp the mandal and are saying they had got the permission from the police itself to do the noise pollution till 10 o clock. They r saying ask ur kid to study after 10pm. Isnt the playing of Filmi songs in front of Ganeshji insult to him and that too with full volume. I told them to chant ganesh mantra with this much volume with their own voice. But they dont know the ganesh mantra at all. I told them this is ganesh mandal not a pub or disco bar. If u want to continue with all these then pl dont put up ganesh mandal here rather open a disco bar or pub. Then they r saying i am doing dada giri here. Pl give ur feed back as whether u are for or against me. padma Get your email and more, right on the new .com
Guest guest
I recently came down to Pune and realised that the same what you are saying. Filmi music being played in front of Ganeshji and then in the end they utter 4 or 5 times Ganapati baba moryaa and it ends there. It was clear people want to have joyous environment at Ganesh Chaturthi. A joyous environment is good but it should be decent. Durgaa puja goes on for around 10 days but they maintain the religious environment along with festivities. And festiviies are decent. What is wrong is wrong and when you feel its wrong you should correct them. When things cannot be corrected via explicit intervention i ask for divine help for saving me, family, state or nation. Pray to Ganeshji and i am sure he will listen. Jai Gurudev On 8/30/06, Manoj Kumar <manojk (AT) adityabirla (DOT) com> wrote: > > Dear Padma didi, > > > > I fully agree with your view. Guest guest
If you are interfering in the worship of others, for whatever reason it, will only create obstacles for your future spiritual progress. All sound is mantra. If you could only really apppreciate Ganesha then you would see this play as his vibhuti. Not doing so, and trying to stop it, you run the risk of having many many obstacles on your path. This isn't good. Be patient. - Anurag Goel Friday, September 01, 2006 3:43 AM Re: RE: [gayatri_parivar] Noise Pollution at Ganesh Mandals : got the permission from police!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Doing something and then blaming it on gods doesn't sound good. All "Mantra is sound" if that is the case then everyone seems to be uttering mantras 24x7. In such a case everyone should be an enlightened one. Every specie with a vocal cord should be an enlightened one then. You seem to be saying since ingredients are same, hence irrespective of who makes the curry, it should be good. Rather you seem to be going one step beyond and seem to be saying any ingredient will make a good curry. According to you any act done on festivals is the vibhuti of the lord irrespective what that act is. I guess you are blindly stretching the meaning of mantra and any in act in the name of religious practices to the every extremes. Devotion is what is most important. If someone sings a filmi music with pure devotion to lord then also that would be fine. A person in devotion can never hurt others. But as padma explains that doesn't seem to be the case with the Ganesh Mandal in front of her house. There is a difference between a non-enlightened butcher and an enlightened butcher. Remeber the story of a hunter who was presenting the flesh to lord shiva, i guess narada on seeing that suggested the hunter to present his own flesh to lord shiva if he is so keen on presenting flesh to lord shiva. And hunter was so devoted that he did that. Its the attitude, devotion and the mind set that makes all the difference. If the Ganesh mandal in from padma's house was a devoted one the they would have listened to padma.
