Guest guest
Om Amriteswari Namah Ammachi, please guide and bless us as we open our hearts to the teaching of the Sri Guru Gita. Divine Mother, stand with us, as we grow in our Selves and as we continue to open our hearts and our minds to your Love and Light. Amma, show us how to share your inspiration and your Love for us with the World. We dedicate our study today to Peace on this Earth, and to healing the hearts of humankind. Guru Gita Study Session 4 Verse 13. The Lord Said: The holy water (that has washed the Guru's feet) dries the mire of sins, lights the lamp of knowledge and helps one cross the ocean of transmigration. Verse 14. It uproots nescience, puts an end to rebirth and (its cause) karmas. One should sip the holy water of the Guru's feet for enlightenment and dispassion. Verse 15. Drink the holy water of the Guru's feet; eat the food left over by the Guru. Constantly meditate on his/her form; constantly repeat the mantra given by the Guru. Verse 16. The place where the Guru resides is Kashi. The holy water of her feet is the Ganges. The Guru is the Lord of the Universe (Shiva) Himself. He/she is indeed Brahma, the Savior. Verse 17. The holy water of the Guru's feet is Gaya, the Akshaya (imperishable) banyan tree, the most sacred Prayag. Salutations again and again to the Guru! Verse 18. Meditate ceaselessly on the form of the Guru, always repeat his/her name. Carry out her orders, think not of anything except the Guru. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Om Lokah samastah sukino bhavantu Lokah samastah sukino bhavantu Lokah samastah sukino bhavantu Om santih, santih, santih Om sri gurubhyo namah hari om ~Om, may all beings in all the worlds be happy. Guest guest
I think several of us have had the blessing of drinking the water which has washed Amma's feet on Guru Purnima. I myself did in 2004 and again this year. In 2004, Anaghan (who I'd known only a week then) came up to me after the pada puja and gave me one of the pink rose petals that had adorned Amma's feet during the puja. It was soaked with the mixture of rose water, yogurt, sandalwood paste, etc. I ate it, and immediately began to cry. I felt so overwhelmingly grateful to have been given one of those petals, knowing that one tenth of one thousanth of a drop of that water washes the sins of innumerable births, etc... it felt like a tremendous weight was lifted. love, Prajna "Children, all of spirituality is contained in that one word: Awareness." - Amma
