Guest guest
respected members, I have asked this very simple question at other astro forums but got no answer so far. I hope someone will answer it here. In the JHora software, ( developed by Sh PVR Raoji) how does one calculate the solar return/varsha phal chart. I suspect it has something to do with tithi pravesh? but not sure. Please guide me. Many thanks in advance azaad
Guest guest
Hi Azaad, Yes, it has to do with Tithi Pravesh, but differs from Varshphal because also the Moon has to return to the same sign and degree where it was in the natal chart. So the annual chart will often not be in the same day of birth but in a day near it when both the Sun and Moon are placed in the same sign and degree as they were in the natal chart. Not sure where this Tithi Pravesh came from. Was it invented by Parashara? Is it in the scriptures, or is it another innovation by the new Vedic astrologers? Best wishes, Rui. theblisswithin <theblisswithin > wrote: respected members, I have asked this very simple question at other astro forums but got no answer so far. I hope someone will answer it here. Guest guest
Thanks Anna and Rui for responding to the query. Rui: I am myself not sure what Tithi Pravesh means. I thought it meant like calculating transits at any given time, that you can enter a la tropical style. LIterally translated from Hindi Tithi is date ( lunar phase date) and Pravesh is entry. But that's the extent of my knowledge so far. It's a feature in the JHora software. Now that I did see my solar return/Tajaka chart (finally!) I am beginning to wonder how does one reconcile that with a simple transit status of planets, which seems easier to interpret. For instance my Sun in the Tajaka chart for current year is in 3rd ( rising leo)but for the next year ( b'day comes in about 6 weeks) goes to 12th ( scorp rising) etc. The transit sun meanwhile obviously moves at the regular pace 1 deg per day in my 4th house at the moment. Any ideas would be appreciated. Guest guest
Dear Azaad, Just a quick response before I go to sleep. You wrote "Tajaka chart (finally!) I am beginning to wonder how does one reconcile that with a simple transit status of planets, which seems easier to interpret" You don't have to/reconcile. TP and Tajaka are return charts: planetary positions, transits 'frozen' on a significant time of return /Sun or Sun/Moon relationship/. READ it as a chart for a YEAR- like a separate chart. Find some books, articles on return charts and progressions to help you better understand these charts. Underlying premise in these charts is that what the chart for exact moment of return signifies, become important in that year. Some suggest to read return chart the same way you read natal-but lasting one year. Anyway, you certainly need to read and learn more on this. In Tajaka there are progressed points like Muntha /and Lord Muntesh/, and year Lord- their placement in an annual chart reveal a lot about a year ahed. This is 'crush course' of course, and you will find many books on this- I suggest that you study them first before attempting chart analysis. I hope it's clear now that transits are ongoing pl. movements, while return charts, although transit charts themselves, are transits 'frozen' for the moment of return. Good luck, A. theblisswithin <theblisswithin > wrote: Thanks Anna and Rui for responding to the query. Rui: I am myself not sure what Tithi Pravesh means.
