Guest guest
||Om Datta Guru|| Dear v I knew Patels accuracy in translation though he has erred once which he had rectified in his article in Ramans mag & also in his book. It takes great COURAGE and true humility to accept ones mistakes especially if one is regarded as a Sanskrit Scholar of Rare variety having translated very rare shlokas of Chandra Kala Nadi (Deva Kerelam) where even R. Santhanam had made mistakes v He saw the verse and said Sastri's translation was correct And Lagnendrapi was Lagna OR Moon and not AND Moon. I asked him to pls re-see the article with magnifying glass (he is 91) as I would be quoting him in front of 500 odd people, so he thought on it and said CORRECT. v After few mins he said do not waste ur time on MPY period v Patel's geniousity in sanskrit I have seen very closely with how much detail he pays & tough words how he interprets. Ofcourse a man who used to speak normal conversation in sanskrit with his wife, a man who sings every shloka, and meditates on them is in a different league and I couldn't argue with him further on correctness or otherwise of his translation.
