Guest guest
# 7 Hearing removes sin and gives freedom from infirmities. Got Chandi? Get the MP3 CD of Maa and Swamiji chanting it from our bookstore: www.shreemaa.org # 8 Oh Reliever of Difficulties, remembering You the fear of all living beings is dispelled. When remembered by those individuals in the harmony of spiritual growth, you increase their welfare and intelligence. Who is like You, Oh Dispeller of Poverty, Pain, Fear, whose sympathetic demeanour always extends compassionate assisance to everyone? # 9 Who constantly recites, clearly removes the pin, he becomes an attained one, he joins the retinue of the Goddess; he becomes a celestial singer. #10 Troubles subside as well as the afflicting influences of the planets
Guest guest
I'm sorry, I just signed on and was unable to find the first six reasons on the logs. Anybody have a copy they can forward to me? If so, thanks in advance! >Who constantly recites, clearly removes the pin, he becomes an >attained one, he joins the >retinue of the Goddess; he becomes a celestial singer. I would be very interested in hearing more about the meaning of "removes the pin." It seems to refer to the ego-bondage? Guest guest
Dear Max, I am posting the reasons in backward order: 10, 9, 8, etc. As for the pin, my humble answer: The Pin is known as kilakam in sanskrit. Many scriptures and even parts of scriptures begin with a description of their characteristics and why we are chanting the scripture. This section of the scripture is called Viniyoga. The characteristics include who is the deity we are worshipping, who is the seer who conceived the scripture, what is the meter (# of syllables per verse), the energy, the seed, the principle, the nature, the pin, the purpose, etc. Concepts like seed, energy, principle, nature, and pin can be understood only by intuition. They defy intellectual description. How to intuit the meaning of these? By repeated practice. The pin is the device by which we open a lock. We stick the pin into the key hole and jiggle the lock till it opens. In the same way, the pin is the mantra or mantras by which the serets of the scripture are revealed. By knowing the pin and deeply understanding it we enter a world in which the meaning of the scripture is revealed. For example in the Chandi Path, the first episode, the seed is Raktadantika. What does that mean? I don't know. But as we keep chanting the scripture Goddess will give you an understanding of the pin and with this understanding the seeker can begin to understand the meaning of the scripture and you will understand the scripture just as you understand that 1 + 1 = 2. I hope this helps. Sincerely srini , Max Dashu <maxdashu wrote: > > I'm sorry, I just signed on and was unable to find the first six > reasons on the logs.
