Guest guest
Hi, Greeting to all! Navratra are around the corner, and I am very keen to recite Durga Saptshati in these auspicious days. I have read Saptshati before also (9days) but without going in the formal procedures to do that. This time, I would like to do the way it is supposed to be done. I know there are few strotams needed to be recited before and after Saptshati(which I didnt do last time). WIll I find all the strotrams in the Durga Saptshati book by Chaman Lal. All of the strotrams are in Hindi in this book. Is there anything else I nned to do?? Please guide me. Regards, Puneet

Guest guest
Durga sapashati is part of Markandeya Purana IN which Markandeya gives philasophical counslling to a KIng and a Merchannt who lost their kingdom and Businss. He Explains them how th mother batteled against demons Mahishasura and Sumbha / Nisumbha. MOst of the stotrams what you find them are really sung by Devi / Devatas Rishi and muni to get the help of the Divine Mother. THe book available in mostly in northen part is published by Shri CHaman Lal, A devotee of Godess, Sanskrit Slokas with commentary in Hindi. Similar books are also available in all Languages. The script differs. The Slokas / stotrams will remain same. Even Rama Krishna Mission has one book called (Devi Mahatyam).
