Guest guest
It is Lord Sriranganatha who is known as 'peria-perumaal', not for physical magnitude, but that He was worshipped by Sriraama, who was himself 'perumaal' incarnated. The longest (56 ft) ananta-Saayee is at Saaranga, district Angul, Orissa, reclining Open-to-Sky on the banks of river Brahmani; the second longest, is trapped in NTPC project at Talcher, about 30 miles to east of Saaranga. ============================================================= This article has been sent to you by Tirumanjanam Sundara Rajan ( try_surangam (AT) sancharnet (DOT) in ) ============================================================= Source: The Hindu (http://www.hinduonnet.com/2006/06/15/stories/2006061504500300.htm) Andhra Pradesh - Others Sri Ranganatha Swami's mammoth idol installed Staff Reporter Hundreds of devotees throng Sri Astalakshmi temple premises DIVINE OCCASION: The installation of the 26-feet Sri Ranganatha Swami idol being done at Sri Astalakshmi temple in Rajahmundry by Sri Tridandi Ranga Ramanuja Jeeyar and other priests on Wednesday. - Photo: S.
