Guest guest
Dear Members: There is a lunar eclipse on Sept 7, 2006. Those born in stars Arudra, Swaati, Sathayam, Sravanam, Poorvabhadra, Punarvasu, and Visakham should perform shanti karmaas to avoid ill-effects due to the eclipse. (Actually in all panchangs only arudra, swati, sathayam, Sravanam and Poorvabhadra are mentioned; but actually though sathayam star is in operation for the major part of the day, during the time of eclipse, actually Moon is in the star Poorvabhadra; so, the right procedure is for trinal stars of Poorvabhadra also to perform the remedy). The eclipse is from 11-36 p.m. (Sept 7, 2006 IST) to 1-07 a.m. (Sept 8 by modern calendar IST). All persons should avoid eating anything after 8 p.m. IST on that day. (approximately 3.5 hours before the eclipse). Members whose stars are mentioned above should refrain from eating anything after 5-30 p.m. (approx. 6 hours before the eclipse) itself. Members of this forum who wish to avail the shanti parihaaram can contact Guruji Dakshinamoorthiji in this regard as he has some powerful ancient palm-leaf remedy for this. Guruji can chant the mantraas on your behalf for removal of the eclipse dosham. Best regards, Mohanraaam.

Guest guest
Dear Shri. Sundaram: Guruji's email-id is :dakshinastrologer (AT) (DOT) co.in. Essentially remedies like these should be done only after giving some offerings to the Guruji who performs the remedy. Guruji might charge you a reasonable amount (he used to charge Rs.150/-; I do not know how much he will charge now; maybe the same!) You may contact Guruji directly in this regard.
