>>"Question from Osorde:

My Kali and Ganesha deities were stolen by my roommate today.Any

recommendations on what to do?"<<

Dear Osorde,

Once my car was stolen from behind my building. I had a beautiful,

small puja on the dashboard (a Ganesha murti, A Hanuman Murti and a

Lalitambika murti). I used to wave the lights and incense everyday and

even had a small "car vase" for a flower for them. We made many trips

together back and forth to an ashram I was visiting frequently at the

time. I would do my puja to them, put on a chanting tape and off we

would go. I was desolate when my car was stolen, so worried about the

deities...who had stolen them? how were they being taken care of? were

they ok? I would dream about them at night...feeling very bad that

they were somewhere in what was probably a bad situation.

Around three weeks later, my car was found. It was a complete wreck,

totally trashed and unsalvagable....but, when I went to see it, I

noticed that the murtis had been pried off the dashboard and carried

away. I thought alot about it and finally realized that the Deities,

themselves, had decided to go with the person who had stolen them and

make a change in his life. Every once in a while, I wonder what became

of that person, the one who stole my car and then made such an effort

to take the murtis off the dashboard before he set it on fire. God has

very strange ways of reaching into the most hardened hearts.

best to you,

sadhvi

PS: greetings to all of you ..my Summer has been very distracted and I

am on vacation during Navaratri. Best love to all of you and to Maa

and Swamiji.
