In every one of Swamiji's books you have the slokas in Devanagari, a transliteration (i.e. how the Devanagari letters look in western script) and Swamiji's poetic translation into English on the meaning of the text. ....Linda, you can use any book if you want to do this, too. Dear Gauri ~ thank you so much. Yes, I do understand that the pronunciation guides are in the back of most of the books available from Devi Mandir. I have used them for the Chandi and now for the Advanced Shiva Puja. I also think the idea of flash cards is excellent. I have also found a book on Amazon.com that I may order. It is called: Sanskrit Workbook: Learning the Alphabet (Language of Nature) by Thomas Egenes, who has written several, more advanced (well, they seem that way to me, even though they're "basic" ... I have one somewhere). The Alphabet seems like a better place to start.
