Guest guest
Re-Somayaji's unsubscribing. My submission on this topic has drawn some responses. While expressing their sympathy, they have also given advice to cheer me up. I am thankful to all of them. I wish to state that what I wrote was on an inpulse, generated by the very sad message of Sri Somayaji. I wanted to point out that such a reaction is normal for every human being, unless he is a sthitaprajna. I pointed out my own experience in this context. The main point I wanted to bring out, which appeared at the end, was that whatever is done by God is for our own good and sufferings of all kinds, whether due to disease or the loss of a dear one, etc. should be looked upon as a means of cleansing us of our sins so that we move closer to liberation. In my haste I made some other remarks to highlight what a normal human being feels in the face of a calamity. They are only passing thoughts and may be dismissed as not being my real views. I have full faith in God and my attitude is one of total surrender to Him. I am glad to know that Veena Nair is using my book for studying Narayaniyam. I thank her for her remarks. Incidentally I may say that the acceptance of my Narayaniyam for publication by the Chinmaya Mission was itself a miracle for two reasons. One, Swami Chinmayanandaji did not know me at all at that time, and two, they generally publish only books written by their own Brahmacharies and Swamijis. It was clearly due to the 'preraNa' of Guruvayurappan that Swamiji accepted my book. S.N.Sastri
