It is just that I like the translation of the prana pratishta mantra so much ('you are the life of this life' and so on)... Dear henny and srini ~ I loved this too, when I recited it last night. I felt it went into my heart and took up residence. I'm not sure srini would have told us what she knows if she hadn't meant for us to be able to use it (while we may be waiting a long time to get personal instruction). My heart wants to do it. So please srini, if we are not to do as you suggested for the Prana Pratishta until we can learn directly from someone (which for me, may be never), let me know. As a kind of P.S., I don't know how many "special needs" folks there may be out there who are devotees of Shree Maa and Swamiji. But it would be wonderful, to, at some time, have something in writing, a little booklet perhaps, for us, with Swamiji simply outlining things he has said like, "each according to his capacity," and like when he told me it was okay to recite puja reclining in bed. By 5 or 6 in the evening now, I am so sick that I do become bedridden. This is sad on the one hand. But on the other hand, as I mentioned in a previous post, it gives me time for sadhana that, were I my old 24/7 self, I might be running around doing other things. I would be happy to offer my services, as a guru seva, to email with anyone at the Mandir who might be interested in helping put together such a booklet. (I know Swamiji is so busy, so perhaps, we might get it started, and the person could confer with Swamiji.) I am sure there are people, devotees, who are in worse shape than I, and who may feel discouraged as I have in the past because they are unable to do what would be "normal" devotee things, like doing puja at your altar or doing homa, etc. But with Swamiji's compassionate responses to my questions, I have realized that I can do almost anything a person who does not have special needs can do. Such a booklet; it does not have to be long, for there are so many resources, like the books, the music tapes and cds and the video tapes and cds, that I/we can utilize. Anyway, I hope some little bee will buzz this idea into Swamiji's ear because I believe something like this would open up everything to people who are like me. And as I said, if there is anything I can do .... suggestions, questions someone in my situation might ask; help with the typing, please, please let me know.
