Tirumala laddu padi ticket price hiked

The price of Laddu prasadam sold on the recommendation letters at the

famous hill shrine of lord Venkateswara at Tirumala near here has been

hiked one and half times with immediate effect.

 

 

 

The price of Rs.100 Laddu Padi Ticket (LPT) to obtain 10 laddus on

the recommendation letters issued by different influential sections

including VIPs, politicians ,officials of all the four estates and

business magnates since last one decade has been enhanced and started

selling it to Rs.250 from this evening.

 

 

 

The newly constituted eleven member TTD Board with Mr.B.Karunakara Reddy

as its Chairman in its first meeting held on the hills today has taken

this decision.

 

 

 

He said that the decision was taken to curb laddu black marketing on the

hills and also other unholy usages of laddus including distribution of

laddus during weddings and political activities.

 

 

 

The price of Rs. 75 big laddu called as kalyanam laddu has also been

hiked to Rs.100. he announced.

 

 

 

The board also decided to construct three mega guest houses consisting

of about 850 suites for the benefit of common devotees on the hills

besides two massive pilgrim amenities complexes, he said.

 

 

 

The Board also decided to sell Bhundi prasadam weighing about 175 grams

(the same quantity of each laddu) filled in well packed pouches made on

par with the pouches of multinational food or biscuit companies, Mr.

Reddy said adding that the boondhii would be sold only when there is

heavy demand for laddus due to very heavy rush of devotees on the hills.
