I guess i must still improve my english, i did not mean to comment on

whether people should hear devi voices or not.

I commented on the many incidents where people think they can

decide what is the right path for someone else.

Some examples:

"The only Guru you will ever need is Your Self."

Now how does he know that? Maybe the poster will find a Guru, maybe

not, it is devi that will decide if he needs a Guru not we.

Why discourage belief in the Guru Principle (in a hindu shakta list)

and instead recommend "the self"?

There are several postings like this from vir.

That makes me think he is of the opinion that having a Guru is

something that should be generally avoided by every sadhaka.

Stating this in a group that is about Shakti sadhana is inappropriate

in my opinion, since a Guru is considered of vital importance if you

want to follow Upasana by all Shaktas.

In a Shakta or Shaiva environment, especially in Kaula or Dattatreya

Sampradayas it is not unusual to even consider Guru and Guru Mantra

of more importance to sadhana and moksha than devi/shiva her/him

self or their mantras.

There are valid reasons for this, really there are, you can trust me.

For a Shakta/ shaiva a statement like: "The only Guru you will ever

need is Your Self." has about the same Meaning as the

statement: "All of your sadhana is nonsense and useless" at least

for those of us, like me, that put great importance on the

Realisation of the indivisible unity of Guru, yantra, Mantra, Devi

and Sadhaka.

The uninterrupted transmission of the wisdom that flows from the

divine source down to the Guru and that is transfered in seed state

in the diksha from Guru to disciple and can be tapped by worship of

the Guru, is something very worthwhile, that this is so is a fact

and also the practice of Guru worship, nothing of this i invented, it

is very basic for every Sadhaka.

I don´t think any Shakta or Shaiva would say everybody needs a Guru

or should worship one. But he will insist on his right to do what he

chooses without need to defend this position.

Should one need to defend this worship of Guru Paduka in a Shakta

List?

It maybe appropriate and applaudable to say that a Guru is

unnecessary only the Self is needed in another environment but not

here in my opinion.

Another posting:

"Why you are so particular about "Dhoomavathi" sadhana, as it is a

lower state. one should attain the maha nirvana by upasana of

Tripurasundari"

Here somebody knows what is the right form of devi for somebody else

he does not know that person, all he has seen is one posting

nonetheless he knows what is best. Is this wisdom?

Another posting:

"Actually ganapathi upasana is a basic level of upasana. or in

another way, the first step of attaining the shakthi from Universal

mother."

Same here, what about those who reach their goal by Sadhana of

Ganapati? Are they only on a basic level? Another one who knows it

better....

Next example:

"It is unfortunate that people do not understand about Pratyinkira.

When the supreme Divine Mother is there - Raja Rajeswari - why should

one go after all these lower division powers."

Same thing here.

I hope that further elucidates my point: I was not at all commenting

about people hearing voices or having visions.

We can discuss about voices and visions, if you like, but this would

be another thread.
