Guest guest
SrI: Dear Bhaghavatas: I request information on this kshetram. In his book "Mattapplliyil maraindha PoruL" paramapadavaasi U.Ve. Mukkur Lakshmi Narssimhachariar says Mattappali is Ahobilam. Are both the same? If not, would a person knowing about Mattappalli give info on where it is located and how to get there? Is this kshetram part of the hills housing Ahobilam caves? adiyen vasaka: dosha: kshantavya:
Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri Lakshmanan Swamin: Mattaplli, the abhimana sthalam of Paramapadhavasi U.Ve. Sri Mukkur Laksmi Nrisimhachariar is near Vijayawada on the banks of Krishna River. Adiyen understands that this is one of the pancha nrisimha kshetram (Simhachalam, Yadagiri Gitta very close to Hyderabad), Panaka Nrisimha kshetram near Vijayawada, Nellore etc). To reach Mattapalli, one has to reach Kodad by bus, either from Hyderabad(200kms) or Vijayawada (99kms). From Kodad, one has to come to Huzoornagar (15kms) by bus & from there one has to reach Mattapalli by another bus. Mattappallli is about 150 kms. very close to Vijayawada The Moolavar is Sri Yogananda Nrisimhan. Thayaar is Sri Rajyalakshmi. Chenchulakshmi Thayaar is also present beside the moolavar. The sanctum sanctorium is inside a cave which extends upto the river Krishnaveni. The vimanam here is Brahmananda nilaya Vimanam. (information from "Google" and other sources) Adiyen had been to Yadgiri Gutta where three svayam vyakta Nrusimhan Bhagavans are there. Beautiful temple. vacaka: dosha: kshantavya: dAsan Srinivasan geelakshman wrote: > SrI: > > Dear Bhaghavatas: > > I request information on this kshetram. Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri LakshmaNan : Ahobilam and MattapaLLi are quite different . MattapaLLi and Ahobilam are both in Andhra PradEsh . MattapaLLi is an abhimAna Sthalam , where Bhagavan Narasimhan is blessing us from inside a cave . Sage BharadhwAja worshipped this anugraha Moorthy inside the cave . Even today , there are no evening AarAdhanams there to resrve the time for Sage BharadhwAjA's AarAdhanam at MattapaLLi . MattapaLLi is part of the five Narasimha KshEthrams around Vijayawada . MattapaLLi is 150 KM away amd MangaLa giri , VedAdhri are closer . Ahobilam is a dhivya dEsam celebrated by Thirumangai AzhwAr , Lord SrinivAsa of Thirumalai and Lord Raamachandra during His Vibhava avathAram .There are nava Narasimhans there . It is the seat of Ahobila Matam , wehre the Lord Himself initated the foundign Yathi , Aadhi VaNN SaThakOpar here : http://www.ahobilamutt.org MattapaLLI Nrusimhar was "adopted " by Vaimunta Vaasi Ghanapadi MukkUr Sri Lakshmi NrusimhAcchAr Swamy , a dear disciple of the Present Azhagiya Singar , Sri NaarAyaNa Yatheendhra Mahaa Desikan . PerumAL and ThAyAr Raaj(y)a Lakshmi are Vara PrasAdhis residing on the banks of KrishNa river , some 150 Kms from Vijayawada in the middle of abundant green forests. VaadhUla Tilakam is the prolific author of many books and the founder of the Swathi Narasimha mahaa Yaj~nam uthsavams . He performed Aathma SamarpaNam at the sacred feet of Malolan on Sep 19, 2000 at MattapaLLi and that Aathma vivAham was performed by Sri NarAyaNa YathIndhra MahA Desikan , who decribed MukkUr Swamy as a Jeeva Rathnam . Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri Sathakopan Swamin: adiyen thank you and all others who responded. I gave wrong title. The title of the book is "Mattappalliyil Malarndha Marai PoruL". As you mentioned Paramapadavaasi U.Ve. Mukkur Lakshmi Narasimhachariar has drawn parallels between the two kshetrams. The descriptions he has given are so vivid it makes the reader yearn to go this kshetram at once. They are so similar and so he declares Mattappalli is Ahobilam though they are miles apart. I need your help further. Sri Rama prayed to Sri Lakshmi Nrusimhar when he passed through Ahobilam. I am assuming 'Sri RamENa virachitam Sri Nrusimha Pancamrutha Stotram' was done at the Ahobilam. I am trying to help a gentleman who is doing research on Sri Rama's path in the South based on his geological knowledge of India at that time and Valmiki Ramayan. This researcher says it is not clear to him about the path Sri Rama took through the south of Vindhyaas and also through Ahobilam caves, through the present day Karnataka. Especially he is not clear about the caves occupied by Vali and Sugrivan which he says ought to be in Karnataka. I would be grateful if you or anyone in the group can give references to throw more light on this (books or internet sites) I will pass them on to this gentleman.
