Guest guest
Dear All: Chanting of chapters 34 to 44 (11 full chapters) of Baala Kaandam of Shrimad Vaalmiiki Raamaayana (relating to how Ganges started flowing on earth by Bhagirathaa's penance) during Mahaalaya Paksha will ensure that one's deceased ancestors will attain good lokhaas and hence bless their descendants. Those who cannot do it personally may approach Guruji Pandit. R.DAKSHINAMOORTHIJI to chant it on their behalf giving the details of the deceased person for whom the chanting is done, their relationship with the person who is organizing it, and the gothram. Guruji is already doing it for those who approach him with that request. The chanting can be organized on the thithi of the deceased father/ mother in addition to performance of the mahaalaya shraadh. This can be organized on "Mahaalaya Amaavasya day(Friday, Sept 22nd 2006 ) also by everybody. I am posting it here because some persons had asked Guruji what special poojaas can be done during Pitru paksh; Guruji was reluctant to mention this chanting as he was afraid that people might misunderstand his motives as being commercial (Guruji charges Rs.1000/- as offering inclusive of cost of pooja materials and his own service charges which are quite moderate considering the efforts and resources involved in this recital of full 11 chapters). Guruji is doing this currently for just those who are very close to him and hence will not misunderstand his motives at all. But I thought that everyone should get benefitted by his chanting and only if this information is displayed in the forum persons who wish to avail such a service can benefit by contacting Guruji; hence this post. Those who wish to chant it in their own vernacular versions of Gangaavatharana story can also do so themselves for the satisfaction of their pitrus. Best regards, Mohanraaam (Dakshinamoorthidaasan)
