Guest guest
Sat Nam, Ji, Trying to raise your consciousness while abusing that same consciousness or awareness does not make sense. Yoga gives us the ability to see ourselves and our divinity clearly. If you cloud that vision with chemicals and hallucinations how can you know what's really there? I repeat: Stop doing drugs.. Do Yoga and Meditation. Please listen to the wisdom of what was written above. Also, don't be afaid to join a support group to help you out of the drugs. I have a friend who is a recovered drug user. He always says of himself: "I can't be sober and using at the same time." Sunder k Messenger with Voice. Make PC-to-Phone Calls to the US (and 30+ countries) for 2¢/min or less. Guest guest
Hi I know exactly what you mean. i have been/ still in the identical situation.drugs used by me may be different also the methods for yoga may be different, but in essence,i have also done the same, mixed kundalini and drugs. for me it was like, that it was only after i used, i was able to focus on the inside. else, all my desires/ needs etc prevented me to focus on kundalini or god or whatever we may want to call. in addition, i have been diagnosed with having 'bipolar disorder', whose first episode happend after i was using drugs and trying arouse kundalini for 2 years. I have come across few books, which talk about kundalini with respect to the new modern science. They suggest(i believe correctly), that meditation ie focus of mind etc lead us to an altered state of mind, which is the same thing which drugs also do. Drugs also alter the state of mind. So, somehow at sometime, a dose of drug has altered the state of mind in a way, which helps in arousing kundalini(ie when the mind has no activity and prana become equal in Ida and Pingla), than, kundalini would INFACT BE AROUSED.. Till now, there is no problem. Problem lies with the behaviour of Drugs and the way they react and work on our mind/ brain. Drugs induced, mind alteration(mood alteration), is not consistent. when person would start, it would take 1mg of drug to achieve a particular state of mind, but 5 days later, 1mg would not be sufficient, it would require 2mg and slowly, a point is reached, when no quantity of drug is able to generate the same state of mind. THIS IS THE PROBLEM.. because, as one continue using drugs, our brain start trying function normal with that drug. so there come a state when, with the drug, there is NO change in the state of mind BUT, and this is BIG PROBLEM - the drug has become a NEED of our brain to function at all. SO, on one hand, we cannot reach that altered state of mind which could have had helped us gain some spiritual power, AND on other hand, our brain is dependant on DRUG, which ofcourse slowly damage the brain...... So, in the end, we are left with damaged brain functions, unable to be in touch with our spirit, and on a very very tough spot. Because, now, even YOGA would not take us to that altered state of mind. FIRST, we need to get rid of the damage of brain to regain that normal state, THAN, YOGA would help. Sure, yoga would help in getting the brain damage fixed also, BUT its very tough. i am also lost in a way, and donot know how to do what to do. Kundaliniyoga, "David W. Guest guest
As a new user, please can someone confirm are we allowed to discuss drugs and drug use in this forum. According to the rules of this forum we are not supposed to. There seems to be some discussion of the subject going on at the moment. **Moderators Note: The original post by 'Willy' was a request for advice, not a description of results of drug use with yoga, we do monitor threads for context too. But the advice below should be heeded as our teacher's position on the subject is clear. DON'T TAKE DRUGS AND DO KUNDALINI YOGA. Willy has received good advice i believe any further exchange regarding this thread should be OFFBOARD. Thanks 14. DRUGS - Yogi Bhajan has stated many times that drug taking has no place in the practice of Kundalini yoga. As this subject has caused controversy on the list in the past, and consumed a lot of bandwidth, it has been ruled off-topic. Please do not start a thread on this subject, nor reply to anyone else who does. Sat Nam Jacqui
