Guest guest Posted September 23, 2006 Report Share Posted September 23, 2006 Dear Maharajas and Prabhus Please accept my humble obaisences all glories to Srila Prabhupada This is the answer I got from Srila Narayana Maharas secretary, I am guessing it is Maharajas statement.: The reason they did these kind of sculptures is so that Indra Deva will not send thunder strikes. Nowadays there are special safety measures for buildings with grounded wires but in those days there was no such a thing. However, when Indra Deva would see the sexual activities depicted in sculptures like these, he would not send his thunder bolts to that area.
