Guest guest
srini posted Q & A with Swamiji: 5. In the Chandi Path, when do we add "svaha" at the end of each verse, and when do we not add that? When we are doing a Homa, we do not add svaha after the verses in the Kushandika, Kavacham, Argala Stotram, Kilakam, and the Dhyanams. We do not add swaha after any of the verses, unless the verses contain swaha, if we are not at the fire. Dear srini ~ now I am completely confused. I thought it was exactly the opposite, that one only used "svaha" if one was at the fire. As I have continued in my recitation of the Advanced Shiva Puja and my periodic adding of the Ganesha Puja from that book to my EMS sadhana, I have stopped myself at every "svaha," and it has been very difficult to me not to say it. So, just to be completely sure, if I am reciting any of these others, while I am sitting or reclining in bed, it IS okay for me to say the "svaha"? Thank you so much for sharing all of this information with us, and please tell Swamiji how grateful this little turtle is. Guest guest
Dear Linda, Namaste! If you are chanting at the bed, you can be chanting one of two things: 1. A Namavalli - For example: 1000 names of Shiva. Here if you have a mantra, Om Shivayah Namaha, keep as is. No Swaha. If you have mantra, Om Shivayah Swaha, Replace Swaha with Namaha. 2. Every other Mantra or Verse that has a Swaha at the end, say Swaha. This is how I understand it. Perhaps there are other nuances. Perhaps not.
