Guest guest
The DevI MAhAtmya forms a part of the Markandeya Purana. It is divided into 13 Chapters and consists of 700 mantras and hence it is called the Saptasati. Three aspect of the Divine Mother have been depicted namely : Maha Kali [ Part 1], Maha Lakshmi [Part 2] and Maha Sarasvati[ Part 3] respectively. The whole of the DevI MAhAtmya is chanted on sacred occasions, especially during the Navarathri. It is suggested that for those who intend to do the PArAyana [chanting the whole MAhAtmya of the Devi] are to chant the whole book from the beginning to the end. Being in the cyberspace, our situation will be slightly different, as such I have decided to do it in such a way that by the end of the ninth night, I would complete the whole 700 mantras posting. Saturday, Sunday and Monday : Part 1. Chapter 1 : Total of 104 verses. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday : Part 2. Chapter 2-4. Total of 155 verses. Friday, Saturday and Sunday : Part 3. Chapter 5 - 13. Total of 441 verses. I pray to the Divine Mother to shower HER blessings on those who will read this MAhAtmaya.
