Guest guest
Dear BhagavathAs, AdiyEn would like to share about the condition of Poigai Alwar Tank near Sonna-Vannam-Seiytha Perumal, Kanchi which is the birth place of Alwar. AdiyEn recently visited the temple along with my family members. Adiyen asked my mother and sister to wait near the entrance so that can buy some flower garlands for Perumal. When returned, saw the disguised face of my mother and sister. AdiyEn enquired the reason, they instructed me to visit the near by Alwar tank. When adiyEn moved to near by Alwar Tank, have NO WORDS to explain the sympathetic condition of the tank. Tank is sourrounded by the human excreta, bad smell of the home garbages which is thrown along the walls of tank and temple, plastic papers floating on the waters of the tank. By seeing this condition adiyEn could NOT DO more than crying inside my heart. Oh Lord, Why people are like this!? Adiyen puts question to my self. You gave birth to see all these things in my life? What sin adiyEn had done? Is there anyone to rectify the condition of Poigai Alwar Tank (birth place of Alwar). AdiyEn is indebted to that bhAgavathA who solves the worst situation. adiyEn, senthil.b ________ India Answers: Share what you know. Guest guest
Dear Senthil, My humble pranams to you. Just to give a brief introduction, my family (Nallappa) happens to be the Dharama Katha of this dhivyadesam. The problems regarding this holy tank (Poigai Janma sthalam) is a modern day problem regarding politics and the right of poor people to live in the temple vicinity. The tank was entirely cleaned and restored and fenced in 2002 but in the recent times (a year back) people who live in the adjoining area scaled the wall and once again spoiled the sanctity of the holy tank. Now I go there once in a year and feel the same as you do but the temple seems to running into politican issues with the residents around the temple. I agree that all these are excuses but I promise to write a letter or ask my father who lives in Madras to look into this matter. Guest guest
Sreemathe Ramanujaya Namaha: Dear Mr. Senthil, I can understand your angst. How big is the tank? Can we see some pictures of the tank. Then we can appeal widely to all like minded Bhagavathas to support the cause of improving the condition of the tank. I suppose it is near the Yathoktakari Temple. Please try to take some pictures and also try to measure the dimensions of the tank. Guest guest
Dear Swamin: adiyEn pranams to you. Extremely happy on seeing your reply. Is there anyway to make awareness among peoples who live near that tank ? The peoples living near the tank should be aware of cleanliness and sanctity of the place. Once again adiyen convey thanks for considering the request. adiyen senthil. --- Bhashyam Nallappa <bnallappa > wrote: > Dear Senthil, > My humble pranams to you. > Just to give a brief introduction, my family > (Nallappa) happens to be the Dharama Katha of this > dhivyadesam. > The problems regarding this holy tank (Poigai Janma > sthalam) is a modern day problem regarding politics > and the right of poor people to live in the temple > vicinity. > The tank was entirely cleaned and restored and > fenced in 2002 but in the recent times (a year back) > people who live in the adjoining area scaled the > wall and once again spoiled the sanctity of the holy > tank. > Now I go there once in a year and feel the same as > you do but the temple seems to running into > politican issues with the residents around the > temple.
