Guest guest
TIRUANBIL DWAJASTHAMBAM KAINKARYAM TRIP TO INDIA FROM 05/192006 to 08/27/2006 - Part 7 4TH AUGUST 2006: ASMAD ACHAARYAN’S KAALAKSHEPAM ON TIRUVAAIMOZHI (LEFT OUT IN THE PREVIOUS POSTING) It was a strange co-incidence! On my return in the evening from Tiru Anbil, I made straight to our Asramam to convey to His Holiness the good news about the progress made in the Dwajasthambam kainkaryam. I did not expect that we were to be blessed with Asmad Achaaryan’s KaalakshEpam on TiruvAimozhi. It was a pleasant surprise that in the course of his KaalakshEpams on TiruvAimozhi, the subject of the day happened to be one relating to “pEr Anbil” Paasuram 10.6.5! 10.8.5 “vaane taruvaan enakkaai ennOdoTTi oonEy kurumbai itanuL pugundhu, inRu taanE taDumaatra vinaigaL tavirthaan tEnEy pozhil then tiruppER nagaraanE” I was told that normally, His Holiness would restrict with just one Paasuram and that because of my presence, he made an exception and explained one more Paasuram namely 10.8.6 and that it was an unexpected bonus for them! What a compassion and kripa of the Achaarya! 10.8.6 “tiruppEr nagaraan tirumaal irumsOlai poruppE uraiginra piraan inRu vandu “iruppEn” enru en nenju niraiyap puguntaan viruppE petru amuduNDu kaLithEnE” I felt and also expressed to H.H. that I wished I could stay for a couple of more KaalakshEpams so that I could have the baaghyam of listening to my favorite Paasuram 10.8.9: “Inru ennai poruL aakki thannai ennuL vaithaan Anru ennai puram pOgap puNarthatadu en seivaan? Kunru enna thigazh maaDangaL soozh tirupEraan Onru enkku arul seyya uNarthal utrEnE” 6TH AUGUST 2006: SRIKAARYAM SWAMI’S PARAVACHANAM (LEFT OUT IN THE PREVIOUS POSTING) As the “Baalaalayam” function was over in the morning we returned to Srirangam around noon.. I stayed back as the very next day was the Tirunakshatram of H.H. Srinivasa Mahadesikan, founder of Poundarikapuram Swami Asramam in its current location on Asramam Road. A pleasant surprise was waiting for us! Dr. Anantha Narasimhachariar, Srikaryam Swami of His Holiness Srimad Andavan gave a Tele-Conference discourse on “Achaarya Vaibhavam”. He covered quite a lot of ground and regaled us with several anecdotes and quotes to emphasize the glory of Achaaryas in general and the Guru Parampara of Poundarikapuram Andavan Asramam in particular. It was a second bonus for me! The Swami literally enchanted the audience with his torrential eloquence that matched the style and substance of his discourse. 19TH AUGUST 2006: SANKALPAM AND ANKURARPANAM The group of Bhaagavatas who attended “Baalaalayam” function assembled again at Sri Nandu BhaTTar’s residence. We left Srirangam by Van around 6.00 pm and reached Tiru Anbil around 7.00 pm. Once there, the Swamis including the PaaraayaNakaras Adhyaapakas and Parichaarakas went straight into action. The scene was set for the day’s function and it was well attended by the “sEvaartis” not only from Tiru Anbil but also from the surrounding villages. After the “AnkuraarpaNam” and the “Sankalpam” there was a spectacular Homam. The rising Jwaala from the fire pit was a sight for Gods to see! Sri Nandu BhaTTar and Sri Narasimha BhaTTar attended even to the minutest details to see that there was no “mantra lObham”, “sraddhaa lObham” or “kriyaa lObham”. The workmen had earlier erected “Saaram” around the Dwajasthambam. The Archakas adorned it with the ceremonial thread and Vastram around at the base, as part of the proceedings. The functions for the day came to a conclusion around 9.00 pm. Thereafter, the guests were treated to a sumptuous “Palahaaram” because it was “Ekaadasi” day. The group returned to Srirangam by the van around 10.00 pm resolving to meet again in Sri Nandu BhaTTar’s TirumaaLigai the next day sharp at 5.30 am because the Muhurtham for the “PratishTai” was fixed in the “Kanyaa lagnam” between 9.30 am and 10.15 am on 20th August 2006 (Sunday) and elaborate preliminaries had to be gone through well ahead of the commencement of the actual “PratishTai” function. ============================================================= To Continue =============================================================
