Pl. raise yourself above these issues and just appreciate the efforts of a Bhagawata who tried to bring these Acharya Mahapurushas to your mailbox. Instead of drawing Acharyas in to this kind of debates why dont we just follow what they said as in

'pOtri ugappathum punthiyil koLvathum pongu pugazh sAtri vaLarpathum sattrallavO munnam petramaikke'.

The caption said that the pictures belong to Srirangam, and the sannidhis there are taken care of KooratthAzhwAn's direct disciples, who are also adiyEn's relatives through marriage. Hence, the curiosity.

it is true that we should rise above kalai issues/differences. And it

is also correct that bhAgawathas are doing wonderful service to

bring photos/pictures of AchAryAs to the desktop of people around

the world - hence, instead of being thankful to them, questioning

their motives is not correct.

 

However, I do not think that anyone is dragging AchAryAs into the

debate if they ask why something is this way, or that way,

when what they see is very different from their experience.

 

It is a fact that koorattAzhvAn's descendants do not wear the

thirumaN depicted in the photos. Moreover, in the

KooorattAzhvAn/bhattar sannadhi in the great temple at srIrangam,

which is taken care of by the descendants of kooorattAzhvAn, one does

not see AzvhAn/bhattar with this thirumaN.

 

In my opinion, the best way to not make this an issue would be to

clarify where the photo was taken from, and explain why (if

known), the mUlavar vigrahas adorn this kind of a thirumaN (some

thing as simple as "this is taken from X sannadhi, and those who take

care of the sannadhi belong to Y sampradayam" would have provided

the answer to the question).

 

Questioning the motive behind a question, rather than answering it

just seems to make the issue more problematic.

 

Just my opinion..
