The Moolavar, Pudarikakshan , who stands on top of the hill has to be approached by climbing 59 steps. The first 18 steps refer to 18 chapters in Bhagavat Gita. The next four steps refer to 4 vedas. After crossing this, one reached Bali Peetam. This is very special in this Divya Desam. The devotees perform Thirumanjanam to this as thanks giving. After crossing Bali Peetam, there are 5 steps that represent pancha bhoothams. They can also be correlated to Artha Panchakam. After crossing this, one gets via "nAzhi kEtta vAsal", the entrance where Perumal answered Thayar's question. After this, one has to go around the hill to find two entrances. One is UttarAayana vAsal (open from the month of Thai to Ani), and the other is DakshinAyana vAsal (open from the month of Adi to Markazhi). After crossing this vAsal, there are 8 steps that represent "AshtAkshara mantram". Then there are 24 steps that represent the 24 letters in Gayatri mantram.

Perumal is in standing posture. Sun is on the left of Perumal and moon is on to His right. Both of them are performing kaimkaryam to Perumal here. Garuda and Adisesha are found in human form on right and left side of Perumal. Sage Markandeya and Bhoomidevi Thayar in Tapas kolam are found on the right and left side of Perumal. Pudarikakshan holds PrayOga Chakram in His hand. Moolavar is so handsome and youthful in this Divya Desam that one can remember the name YuvAkumAra given by Azhwars to Him.

Pangayanayaki and utsavar can be seen in front of the Moolavar. After coming down from the Moolavar sannadhi, one can find a Chitra Mandapam where Surya, Chandra, Indra, Iravatha, Garudan, Shiva can be seen surrounding Pudarikakshan. Perhaps, this is the reason for PeriaAzhwar's pasuram, IndiranOdubiraman esan imayavarellam....

In the street where the chariot is drawn, there is a tank in swastik shape. One taking bath on one side, cannot be seen, nor can see the other taking bath on the opposite side. EmPerumAnAr sannadhi is located in this street.

We will get into more anubhavam of this Divya Desam in the followign postings...
