Guest guest
Sat Nam, I am beginning the green diet tomorrow (is there green chocolate?) and have a question. The instructions say yogi tea may be taken. Is milk to be taken in the tea and if so, is dairy suggested are rice or almond milk better suited to the diet? Dharma Singh Khalsa & Cameron Stauth's book, "Meditation as Medicine" has provided me with the next 40 day meditation also beginning tomorrow, mediation for the release of subconscious fear. Dharma states that this meditation cured a patient of asthma. Having both fear(s) and asthma, this seems a perfect way to let go. Any one else for a new 40 day autumn commitment? Happy new moon, happy time of balance, Guru Gopal

I don't know if there's an "official" recommendation, but my husband and I ran a 42-Day Retreat a while back, and we did the 40-Day green diet as part of it. We used both soy and rice milk at various times, since having the milk is part of the recipe for yogi tea, to buffer the stomach and help with absorption. We never found anything on the subject that mentioned any other suggested variation; so if one is out there, I too would love to hear it. I never found much detailed info on the green diet (suggestions/cautions) before we did it ourselves. Guest guest
Greetings: What I have read and heard of the green diet is eating only green colored foods, leafy veggies, any green veggies, mung beans, sprouts, green olives, avocados. You can steam or eat raw. Unless you are using the diet to clear acne, you may include green grapes, honeydew melon, green apples. I have also included a small amount of pumpkin seeds. If you feel you are not getting enough protein, you may have a hand full of nuts or grains once a week. You can have yogi tea. I'm using unsweetened rice milk in the tea and no honey. I don't know the official suggestion on the tea being sweetened or not. To break this diet first add fruits, then grains, then dairy. You can use the diet for up to 40 days. This diet is rebuilding and good for weight loss. It clears the skin, alkalinizes the body, cleanses the liver and relieves toxic mucus condition. I felt a little floaty the first two days, but am doing well on the diet on my 4th day. I was hoping pistachio ice cream would be allowed, but alas, I'm pretty certain its a green food coloring is not the intent here.
