1. Bhagavat as Bhagirathi

The story of Bhagirath is well know. He performed arduous penance and brought

Ganges down to earth for the betterment of his ancestors. The Ganges flows on

the earth and purifies innumerable people during the course of time.

Similarly, we can compare Bhagavt with Bhagirathi (Ganges). Its recitation

clarifies

our minds and intellects. Bhagavat has benefited many known and unknown souls

since its inception. We are indebted to Bhagirath for Ganges, similarly

humanity will forever be indebted to Sage Vyas for Bhagavat.

However, Bhagavt is special in a sense that for one to bathe in the Ganges,

one has to make an approach personally. while in case of Bhagavat, there is no

need to go anywhere. One can benefit from Bhagavat from any place in the

world. No wonder than that Bhagavat is aptly compared with Bhagirthi.
