Samadhi is an interesting character. He is almost angelic.

Who is he :

A merchant born in a wealthy family. He have been cast out by his

sons and wife, who are wicked through greed of wealth. His wife and

sons have misappropriated my riches, and made him devoid of wealth.

Cast out by his own trusted kinsmen, he have come to the forest

grief-stricken. Dwelling here, he do not know anything as regards

good of bad of his sons, kinsmen and wife. His mind does not become

hard, but instead it bears deep affection to those very persons who

have driven him out in their greed of wealth. He came to the

hermitage with this thought, trying to find the answer : how it is

that the mind is prone to love even towards worthless kinsmen.

My own note [ this is what I see ]

What is greed? Greed is this compulsive behaviour. Greed is never

content with what they have. Greed is greed, even if you wrap it

with a white cloth to make it look pure and honest, its still greed.

Its like a malignant cancer cell, which if not treated or control

will eventually take over your whole body and eventually your death.

Greed does not happen overnight. The wife or sons just don't wake up

one day and decide to take over the whole wealth and drive him out.

Soooo it's a over a period of time.

Sons and wife: Created or outgrow from the self. Referred to the

senses or the habits? He is complete/wealthy because he have it

all : he is strong, he is healthy etc…

Does this refer to the gratification of the senses?. What does it

remind us of? Addiction or when we have run of control of our own

senses. When we don't know when to stop. When a master becomes the

slave.

"I know drugs is bad…. I know it have destroy me.. but I cant keep

my mind of it.. I must have it"

I have this bad habit… I know its bad… but I cant control it.. I

cannot do without it.
