Guest guest
Hello everyone, It was so nice to be in San Ramon last night, celebrating Amma's birthday and the first night of Navaratri. This holiday is still new to me. During the satsang it was mentioned that this time of Navaratri coincides with Rosh Hashanah, and Ramadan. Each of these Holidays has the same theme, letting go of the past, and releasing what no longer allows us to be in a place of peace, freedom and new beginnings. The excerpt below is from another list, but it gives a brief explanation of the first three days of Navaratri. Navaratri Day Three: KALI: The first three days are devoted to Kali, the Goddess of Destruction and Restoration, wife of Shiva; it is a time of purification, a time to let go of all that is not "on purpose" for your life. This is like "cleaning out your closets" to make way for new things. It also seems like a great time to give gifts and to share our resources with others. I would like to help Christine receive this Amma Doll. It should cost about $200.00 including any taxes and shipping. It is a great way to donate to Amma's charities, to assist our sister in her heart healing, and to also serve Amma. Can I have 20 people who could commit to a $10.00 donation, or 10 who could commit to $20.00, myself included? Please contact me off list and I will give you my address. I notice the more I give...of my time and or $, the more I get in return to share. No matter how much I may have at the time...as long as I keep the $ flowing, more and more comes my way. Is it not another sign of an open heart, of faith and of Love? S

Navaratri almost always coincides with the Jewish high holy days, as they both begin on the new moon in September or early October. But this is the first time in decades that all three are beginning at the same time.. can't seem to figure out the Islamic calendar.. I remember Ramadan coming around Christmas time a couple years ago.. and last year it was later in the fall..maybe mid-October. > > > I would like to help Christine receive this Amma > Doll. > It should cost about $200.00 including any taxes and > shipping. > That's only if you want to spend 180 bucks on the full-size doll. The smaller (5") dolls are only $45. Keval
Guest guest
Ramadan, however they figure it, migrates. I remember it being in February! It's a lunar calendar, but then so is the Jewish, although an expert told me the latter is lunar-solar. Dunno if that explains it...
